On any draw longer than a few metres, air cooling struggles to keep beer at serving temperature all the way to the tap. Glycol cooling solves this by circulating a chilled water-glycol mix alongside the beer line, holding the beer cold from the keg to the glass.
How it works
A glycol power pack chills a reservoir of water and food-safe propylene glycol, then pumps it through an insulated trunk line bundled with the beer lines. The glycol absorbs heat along the run, so the last pour of the night is as cold and crisp as the first.
Why it matters
- Consistent temperature across long runs and multiple taps.
- Less foaming and waste from warm beer at the faucet.
- Energy efficiency — one power pack cools many lines.
Krome builds glycol recirculation into our towers and power packs so venues can run long, multi-tap systems without compromising the pour.
